Meditation is all about clearing your mind of noise & bringing yourself back to the present moment. As you improve, you will start to feel a blissful state when meditating. This is a simple way to connect with your soul, & gain clarity. Find a way you can bring this into your life as a daily habit to really feel the difference.
WHAT YOU NEED:
A quiet space where you will not be disturbed
Feel free to use candles, or soft music if you wish
Breathing is a very important part of meditating and also very simple. Breathe deep into your belly through your nose, hold and then out through your mouth (shaped like you have a straw in your mouth.)Pause for a beat before repeating.
While breathing in this manner, you have a couple of options.
SOUNDS: Focus on the different sounds you can hear around you. The traffic, the creaks in the roof, the toilet or the fridge. Become aware of the space around you while continuing your breathing.
VISUALISATIONS: Allow your mind to relax and visualise a cylinder of light shining down from the sky all the way down through your body. Relax your body and allow this light to cleanse you.
THE SKY: Clear your mind of any thoughts or distractions and enjoy the emptiness of the sky in front of you. Any thoughts that bubble up into your consciousness, allow them to drift out of your view like a cloud.
RELAXING: Feel your body release all it’s tension. Enjoy the relaxed state of your body.
GUIDED: If you are finding the above options difficult, then try a guided meditation. Use your intuition to guide yourself to the best option on that day.
If you find your mind jumping in with thoughts, focus on your breathing again & state internally “My mind is quiet.”
Bring this as a habit for 10-20 minutes per day to really feel the benefits of meditation. Tie it in with a morning habit such as before breakfast or after you brush your teeth.
